The first edition of this new Copa Argentina (it was played in 1969 and 1970 before, but the last one didn't have its final played) is gone and Boca was the fair winner with a 2-1 vs Racing in the final.
The 1-0 with a beautiful chip shot by Santiago Silva gave Boca the lead in the 1st half, and later a shot by Lucas Viatri the 2-0. Racing answered soon with 20 minutes left, but they almost didn't create any danger and it was unbelievable that Boca couldn't score a 3rd goal that would have finished the game.
They had every possible scoring position you can imagine and missed them all but in the end they won the Copa Argentina and will play Copa Sudamericana (they debut in 2 weeks vs Independiente).

The next edition of Copa Argentina will have the same format (could be with more teams) but it will be played from February to December 2013 and the winner will have a bigger prize: a place in Copa Libertadores 2014.

Round 2 will start today, and will feature some interesting games like Boca trying to recover at home vs Tigre from last week's 0-3 vs Quilmes, River also trying to bounce back from a defeat visiting Estudiantes and the new Independiente hosting Velez.
