AFA does it again: new tournament format !

After all my life watching the Argentina Football Association taking weird decisions every year nothing should be surprising anymore, but changing the tournament format 72 hours before the season starts has to be a new low for them.

Instead of 1 champion per season like it was announced a few weeks ago (and I explained HERE), we will still have a champion per semester like in the "old" Apertura/Clausura format and the announced "Super Final" will still be played between the two champions at the end of the season.

So what has changed ?

* Instead of Apertura/Clausura the tournaments will be called Inicial/Final. Wow, what change.

* At the end of the season there will be some "Super Final" between the two champions. What's the purpose ? Who knows...

* The relegation system will still change as planned: no more relegation playoffs, bottom 3 of the Averages table are automatically relegated.

Unfortunately the AFA genious still have about 60 hours to change their minds again !!!

Round 1's schedule suffered a few changes as Quilmes-Boca was moved to Saturday night.
