Friendly / Argentina - Japan

One of those friendlies that no one (except for all the Japaneses that will be at the stadium to see Lionel Messi) cares about will be played this Friday @ Tokyo.

Funny enough, Japan will play Copa America @ Argentina next year as a guest of CONMEBOL, so this two teams might meet again next year during this competition.

Japan and Argentina met 6 times, all won by Argentina :

* 1992, Japan 0 - Argentina 1
* 1995, Argentina 5 - Japan 1
* 1998 (World Cup), Argentina 1 - Japan 0
* 2002, Japan 0 - Argentina 2
* 2003, Japan 1 - Argentina 4
* 2005, Japan 1- Argentina 2

Coach Sergio Batista (who is expected to be confirmed soon as the Argentinean NT coach at least until Copa America 2011) didn't confirm the starting lineup yet, but no big surprises are expected and this will be the 4-3-3 for this game :

Sergio Romero - Nicolás Burdisso, Martín Demichelis, Milito, Gabriel Heinze - Andrés D'Alessandro, Javier Mascherano, Esteban Cambiasso - Lionel Messi, Diego Milito, Carlos Tévez.

Andres D'alessandro will be regular for the first time in some years. The ex River and San Lorenzo midfielder, currently in Internacional (Brazil) where he won Copa Libertadores this year, definitely deserved a chance as he's been playing in very high level for his club.

The players waiting their chance from the bench, will be : Mariano Andújar (Catania), Oscar Ustari (Getafe), Nicolas Pareja (Spartak Moscow), Cristian Ansaldi (Rubin Kazan), José Sosa (Napoli), Ángel Di María (Real Madrid), Mario Bolatti (Fiorentina), Javier Pastore (Palermo), Nicolás Gaitán (Benfica), Gonzalo Higuaín (Real Madrid) and Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli).

Sergio "Kun" Aguero (Atl. Madrid), Walter Samuel (Inter), Javier Zanetti (Inter), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid), Ever Banega (Valencia) and Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City) where called for this game but miss it because of injuries.
